BenefitsXML provides innovative data exchange service to OnlineBenefits Collaboration provides HR-XML data exchange for employee benefits administration service providers. Glastonbury, CT (January 25, 2005) – BenefitsXML, a leading provider of e-benefit and HR-XML enabling technology solutions, announced that OnlineBenefits has become a channel partner for BenefitsXML’s new BenefiX service - a data exchange hub for transmitting information to employee benefit plan providers and payroll companies. The BenefiX service allows OnlineBenefits to transmit enrollment specifications in a single HR-XML format to BenefitsXML where the BenefiX service translates, transforms and routes that data into the health and welfare carriers’ proprietary formats. “

OnlineBenefits is very pleased with the results of the BenefiX implementation,” said Alan Cohen, CEO of OnlineBenefits. “Moving our benefits administration data feeds from Benergy to the HR-XML industry standard and utilizing the BenefiX service has increased our focus on customer-facing activities and lowered the cost of operations. It’s clearly improving the timeliness and accuracy of data for our clients and their carriers.

With its vast library of carrier translation adaptors, the BenefiX service will accelerate new client and carrier implementation as well as ease OnlineBenefits’ administrative workload,” states David Donahue, CEO of BenefitsXML. “The BenefiX service is now available to other benefits administration and HR outsourcing companies as well as large employers who want an economical, secure and scalable solution to outsource their carrier and payroll data exchange “

The ultimate goal of the HR-XML Consortium is to have all participants in the HR value chain natively exchange the HR-XML standard specifications,” states Chuck Allen, Executive Director of the HR-XML Consortium. “An HR-XML-based data exchange hub, like BenefitsXML’s BenefiX service, is a very important step towards wide-spread acceptance. HR-XML is pleased to have innovators such as BenefitsXML among its member companies.”
